Way Too Cool was just the start of a whirlwind month of running.  I didn’t realize at the time how jam packed the 4 weeks following Cool were going to be because I pretty much only thought about the weekend that was immediately coming up.   Now that I am sitting here on my first weekend without any big events I can see why I am a little tired and why I haven’t updated the blog along the way!

I plan to get individual posts out for most of the following, but just wanted to include an update on what the rest of March and early April looked like.

The post WTC madness started off with the Inside Trail 30k in Rodeo Beach on a beautiful day with Jojo and Charlotte.

The next day I headed to the Peninsula with Jessica and Jojo for a run through the redwoods on St. Patrick’s Day in search of clovers.

The following Friday, a long talked about idea finally came true with a 22+ mile run commute to work.  A co-worker and I had been talking about how to make this happen for about a year and we finally did it!  It takes a lot of logistical planning, but we thought of every detail beforehand and the run went seamlessly.  The first 17 miles were all on trails through the hills, which dropped us down into Berkeley, where we hit the roads for the last 5+ miles to the office.  I have always loved point to point runs and this was so fun to connect all the dots to get to the office.  When we finally arrived (yes a little late), we were greeted with delicious foods and a streamer finish line.

The next day we celebrated Jojo’s birthday with a run in Pt. Reyes.  This will most definitely be it’s own blog post sometime very soon because this run is ranked in the top ones of my life so far, and I just have to show you why.

The last weekend in March I headed north to Portland with Jojo for a long weekend where I stayed with a long time blog friend Jen!  I signed up for the Gorge Waterfall 50k with Jojo earlier this year and was so excited to use it as an excuse to hang out with Jen too.  It was an incredibly beautiful weekend in Portland and we took full advantage of it.  We ran in Wildwood, walked around the waterfront, ate delicious food, talked for hours and I got to meet Jen’s perfect daughter Penny.  Oh and on top of all of that, also run a 50k through the waterfalls.

Last weekend I made the trip down to San Luis Obispo with Jess and Jojo to be pacers for the marathon!  Any trip to SLO always doubles as a trip to see my family, so our 2 days down there were filled with activities, but were so fun.  We explored Poly Canyon for a short shake out run the day before, and then had more fun than anticipated pacing the marathon.  Jess paced the 1:45 half, Jojo and I paced the 4:15 full, and my other friend Jessica paced the 4:30 full.  We were also able to celebrate my mom’s birthday with her with delicious post-race brunch.

And that was the last 4 weeks.  Incredible running in the most amazing places with the best friends.  I could not imagine a more fulfilling 4 weeks of running than that.

Race reports and running routes to come soon!

I’ll trade my next month for your next month. As always, your running life looks ridiculous. I’m super jealous you made it up to Portland for the Gorge Waterfall race, that’s totally on my bucket list.

Wow, what a jam packed month! I can’t wait to read about the Point Reyes run. I love to check out local trails that I can explore :) I’m slowly getting in to trail running and am aiming to get out in the Bay Area more.

The pictures from the Waterfall tail looked absolutely stunning. Gorgeous. I saw some on JoJo’s site.

I love your photos and the images of the wandering trails disappearing around a corner or off in the distance. Adventure and beauty around every bend it seems.

Here is something that might be interesting for all athletes. I had an excellent Arnold experience this year. The turnout was huge. Had to wait for hours to get inside the Expo. One company out of Vegas Military Grade was doing a bunch great specials during the show. All of their products were sold for 20 bucks and I grabbed quite of few of their supps. Four test boosters, one DOMS preventer. Positive experience with these products so far. Second Wind (DOMS preventer) substantially helps with my recoveries.
