June… and I Guess May

Apparently I let May pass without a recap. GASP!  I think that was a first.

It was probably because it wasn’t my favorite month in the world, especially when it started.  But now that I can look back on it, I realize it was still a good month running aside and there were some positive things about taking some downtime from running.  I guess it’s true what they say about hindsight being 20/20.

So May.  My lowest monthly mileage I have had since I started running back in February 2008 with 36.2 miles.

Even if there wasn’t a lot of running in May, there was plenty of other great parts.

I got to see my friends… a lot of them!

I slowed down and remembered that running wasn’t the only thing in life.

I took advantage of my downtime with extra time with family and friends.

I took mini vacations both to the mountains and to the coast.

I got to start running again!  See Aron, it wasn’t that bad.

Now onto the month that somehow is over already… June.

June is always a special month in our house for obvious reasons.

This June was extra special.

On top of that I made a real return to running and have been soaking up every single second since.

I finished off June with 14 miles on the trails to total 150.6 miles for the month!  Not a bad comeback month if you ask me.

I am very much looking forward to July and all the fun it brings, both in and out of my running shoes.

Your June comeback kicks my six months of comeback’s ass. LOL! I’ve yet to make it in to the hundo club yet, but I’ve also been taking my comeback really, really carefully and strategically.

I love seeing you back at it and sounding “Aron” again.

Yay for running comebacks! I took most of June off too to recover and I loved it, but I hated it. I definitely had trouble filling my days without running. I think I’m more excited and focused now though with the break! Good luck with the rest of training what’s next?

Ughhhh- June’s comeback mileage rocked! :-) My June mileage was almost an all-time low due to patellar tendonitis but I am hoping for better days in July!

Yes, what is next on your racing calendar?
