Bib is picked up. Hydrating is occurring. Carbs are being consumed. Clothes are laid out. Fuel is packed. Logistics are set. Body is rested. Butterflies are most definitely fluttering.
And most importantly, legs are ready to run!
18 weeks ago I started training for this new crazy adventure. I took a leap of faith in myself and my body when I signed up for this race and I had no idea what to expect – but that was the fun part. Along the way I continued to surprise myself, both physically and mentally, feeling like I truly found myself as a runner and was exactly where I want to be with my running right now.
Tomorrow isn’t going to be easy, but it will be amazing.
I texted with my friend this morning and I told her I had 3 goals:
- Have fun.
- Soak up every second.
- Smile even when it hurts because I am doing this because I love it.
I think that pretty much sums it up.
This week I have been overwhelmed by the support of all my friends and family, and all of you out there reading that I have never even met.
So thank you, thank you, thank you.
Thank you for all your support day in and day out over the last couple of months. Thank you for believing in me and for cheering for me. I have loved sharing this journey with you guys and can’t wait to tell you all about it on the other side.
I believe there is tracking (and a live video feed of the finish) on the AR 50 website. I am bib #235. My twitter and facebook will probably be updated before the blog is and I am sure my crew (@Page, @kristin_running, @jojoreuland) will be tweeting updates along the way.
See you in Auburn!
