The bay area bloggers took over the Oakland Running Festival today!
I was so excited to go be a spectator at this race. I was even more excited when I woke up this morning and saw that the rain they had been predicting to pour all over Oakland had passed by in the night. It turned out to be a perfect morning for a run.
Chris and I both had a ton of friends running, so we got up and made our way to Oakland with just a minor snafu. Yes I have driven to the Rockridge Bart station a million times, but for some reason I decided to take the wrong exit that put us right in the middle of the marathon route⦠details details. We still made it which was the important part.
The course was really easy to navigate. We took Bart a couple stops to downtown Oakland and we were able to see most of our friends at Mile 1, Mile 5 and Mile 13 just by walking a few blocks.
Caitlin, Page, Alyssa, Angela, Cate, Kristin, Jessica, Sesa, Layla, Karin, Jana, Dennis, Naomi, Kerry and Jojo, just to name a few, were all out running today! They all rocked their purple socks (which made it super easy for me to spot them!) and rocked their races as well. I am so proud of all my friends!
I love getting to be on the sidelines cheering and today was a great day to be out there. I am constantly reminded at how great all these girls are. Not only are they amazing runners, but also people that I am luck to call my friends.
Congrats to ALL the Oakland Runners! I know there were a ton more out there that I missed. Hope you all had fantastic races.

I love seeing pictures of Page running – she looks like a gazelle!
I know!! I was thinking that looking thru these – she has great running form and makes it look so easy
It’s always so nice to see familiar faces cheering — especially when it’s yours! And thanks for all the photos (I can’t believe I only saw you twice with all the pics you snapped of me!)
Hmmm, I wonder if anything helped you spot us….GO TEAM PURPLE HEART SOCKS!! Thanks 3000000000 for being such good support to your friends. Fantastic.
Great pictures!
I’m down in South Bay and wasn’t running yesterday, but I was so happy for all of the runners when I woke up and it wasn’t raining like they said they would – yay!
It was so great to see you cheering, and thanks SO MUCH for all the great pictures! Who needs brightroom now?!
I love a great morning spectating! I’m sure they were all thrilled to see you!
