Remember how close I was to a new monthly mileage high in January?
Remember how I really considered going on a 5 mile run just to beat that old high by a fraction?
Remember how I said that I decided not to because I had a feeling February was going to be a good month?
And remember how I said I would rather beat that monthly high by a lot instead of a fraction?
Turns out I was right about all those things. Even on a short month.
My new monthly mileage high AND first time breaking 300!
315.8 miles
I bet my previous monthly high by almost 40 miles and it was a short month!
So what exactly happened in February?
Pretty much a lot of running with a lot of friends in some beautiful places. I didn’t have as much time to blog as I would have liked, but I got the important stuff in. Between running, fueling said running, recovering from said running, working a full time job and spending time with my family, pups and friends, there wasn’t a whole lot of time left!
I kicked off February with a big weekend of runs where I had a magical run after a tough long run. This is where I really started to see my body responding to the back to back runs.
I ran my 12th marathon which was my first trail marathon with Jojo and had so much fun running around the Marin Headlands.
I hit a couple big milestones by celebrating my 4th runniversary and my blog turning four.
I finally crossed the marathon mark and ran my longest run yet – 28 miles! This should hopefully only be standing for another week and a half.
I had a blast at the Lake Chabot 30k and enjoyed my last cutback week of training before taper.
And I finally made it to the Top of Diablo and crossed it off of Kerry’s bucketlist.
It was a really great month and I feel stronger than ever and still so excited about it everything. This ultra-training was exactly what I needed to find the spark in my running again.
March is going to be another big month with 3 big peak weeks ahead of me and some really fun races too. It is always one of my most favorite months so I am excited that it’s here!

Way to go!!!!
girl youre mileage is so insane. and im insanely impressed! you inspire me to go farther!
You had an incredible February! 28 miles at one time is an amazing accomplishment. After reading your post about it, I kept thinking about how you had to fuel for it like a marathon, but without the marathon number, medal, PR, whatever…. so much dedication. You are going to rock the 50M!!!
