Vegas Shenanigans, Day 1

Hello from Vegas!

I have been meaning to blog, really I have, but this trip has just been so busy so far!  Since I am trying to keep myself awake as late as possible tonight (in order to sleep in tomorrow), a blog post is the good way to do it.

So, what have I been up to?

I landed Friday afternoon, headed to my hotel to check in and unpack, then Beth and I walked over to the Team Refuel meet up at the Wynn .  We ran into Janae along the way and pretty soon the whole team was together (minus Monica) for the first time.

We had a great time chatting and getting to know each other in real life, plus had a lot of fun talking about training, running (duh) and of course low fat chocolate milk.

My roomie Page arrived soon after and we met up with Janae for some yummy dinner.  Nor-Cal runners obviously love pizza, so that’s what we got.

We were cruising around the mall walking off our dinner (and taking pictures in front of fish while showing off our matching boots)…

…when we happened to run into Ali!  It’s so fun to run into bloggers while perusing Las Vegas.  After a solid half hour of talking we finally let Ali get back to her date and we headed over to meet, what else, more bloggers!

We met up with the group again and our other roommates Emily and Sarah showed up too!  It’s a huge surprise that more running conversations were had.

Finally we were back in our hotel room around 1am with an 8am wake up call since Page and I had a race to get to that involved thousands of runners in Santa suits.  Not something you see everyday.

And that concluded day #1.

    So jealous. Missed my flight due to a wreck shutting the interstate down. Missing my Vegas weekend but thankful to be home safe. Enjoy.
