Yesterday I was lucky enough to see the sunrise and the sunset the best way I know how… on a run of course!
The morning started off with a drive into the hills for some trail running! My running group from work decided to switch things up and I was so excited to get to see some new trails and get a change of scenery. We got to our starting location and it was pretty dark and very foggy, but soon enough the sun was peaking over the hills. It was such a beautiful morning out!
Since it had rained the day before it was very muddy out on the trails which made for some tough running. We made the best of it with a lot of laughs and some very muddy legs. 6.5 miles later we were back at the car covered in mud.
Me and my boss… this might one of the many reasons why I love my job. ![]()
Not a bad way to start off a Tuesday! ![]()
Amanda (who I met a couple of years ago at the SD Rock n Roll Marathon) had contacted me a while back telling me she was going to be in SF! So what do I do? Round up as many Bay Area Bloggers that I can to show her around the city.
We met up just after 6pm downtown. It was a perfect night in SF for a run. We started at the Ferry Building near the financial district and took her on a tour of the Embarcadero.
Katie (fresh off a marathon PR), Jana, Karin, and Alyssa joined us. It was a great group of girls and I am so glad they could all make it!
We took it easy taking in the sights and having great conversation. One direction was the huge full moon and the other side was the beautiful sunset. It was an amazing view either way you were looking.
We of course stopped a couple times for some photos.
We made our way along the water.
And climbed up a hill to be rewarded with this view. Actually we went up the hill specifically for this view. Doesn’t get much better than that.
As the sun fully set, 6 miles later we made our way back to the Ferry Building. The city was still bustling and it was still a perfect evening to be running.
Of course we stopped for food and more conversation after. Doesn’t get much better than that if you ask me! It was so fun to see Amanda again and I love that a blogger can come from across the country and fits right in.
Definitely a great day of runs!

That picture is gorgeous and it would be worth it to run up a hill for a view like that!
It was fantastic to see you again and meet so many other great ladies! Ohh the itch to move just keeps growing!
Sounds like a PERFECT day! Sad I missed it but glad you guys had a good time!
I loved yesterday — and Amanda needs to come back more often!

San Francisco is one of my all time favorite cities to visit.
We were planning a trip this Thanksgiving but with the baby due in December we had to push it back to next year.
The energy in that town is fantastic! My husband has never been “IN” the city and I’m looking forward to taking him around (especially Union Square!).
Maybe I can get a run in while there…
Looks like you had a great time last night. What a gorgeous night for a group run!
lucky you! looks like two excellent runs : )
Next time you have a Blogger meet up, remember me.
