Today was the first annual Pleasanton Fast and Furious Festival and what an amazing day it was.
It all started early Sunday morning at 8am with a fast 5k course.
Then continued into the “Mile of Truth” with some seriously speedy runners.
The day continued with kid’s runs, many different levels of cycling criteriums, a kid bike race and 13 hours later, closed with a pro-cycling criterium for women and one for men. Something for everyone!
I was there for every second surrounded by friends, incredible athletes and an amazing community out there to support a new race for the GREAT cause of fighting ALS. This cause has touched home with the Forward Motion team, and they are doing what they do best by standing up and fighting it.
Me and Kerry at the start of our day of spectating!
I can’t even imagine the hours of hard work that went into this event but my friends pulled off an epic day and I can’t wait to see it topped next year. It makes me so happy and proud to be a part of such a giving, supportive community of athletes and friends.
Bay area friends, definitely mark your calendars next year for this one, even if just to spectate. It was so worth it.

That sounds like an awesome event! I wonder why we don’t have something like that here in NYC?
Sounds like a wonderful event!
I spectated this weekend too. So much fun. Might be better than actually running the race lol
I love spectating…looks like a fun event!
What a cool event and for a great cause – totally worth the long day on your feet, I’m sure!
