Oh July, you were just plain nuts. I had a blast but I am glad you are over and I can move forward to a month with far less plans!
The month started off with a very fun long weekend which included a long run in SF with some of my favorite ladies!
I posted my SFM course recaps which received great feedback! I was so happy so many runners found them useful.
The dogs kept cool in our heat wave by playing in their kiddy pool.
I wrote my second Garmin Basics post about the interval mode.
I helped Page kick off her wedding celebrations by attending her bridal shower AND bachelorette party the same day as a 20 miler.
Then was in San Francisco for a fun blogger run the next morning!
My feet found their new love in Brooks Adrenalines.
Chris turned 30 and I threw him a fun surprise birthday dinner.
Kristin and I continued leading our weekly team lemon run club and had lots of fun getting started on our year of being Run Ambassadors!
I gave myself a kick in the pants and turned on my fast tunes and ran fast.
I ran 13 miles before work so I could spend the weekend in Reno for Page’s wedding where Kristin and I had a blast.
I posted my 7 Links! I loved this series.
I reminisced about my first marathon.
And after an insanely busy weekend, I finished July off with a bang by running SFM again as my 11th marathon where I learned a lot of lessons.
Even though it wasn’t the best race in the world, I finished with a smile and did have a lot of fun! Plus I got to see all my amazing runner friends another time. This month has definitely been an epic month of Bay Area (and beyond) Blogger meet ups!
Somehow during all of these activities, I managed to run 221.7 miles in July!
August I will be focusing on training for my A race for the year – the Portland Marathon! I am so excited for this race and to have it next in my field of vision. August also means we are another month closer to fall already! This definitely makes me happy.
How was your July?

Thank you so much for organizing some of those blogger meet ups! I hope we keep doing more (especially once I actually start running again).
So much going on last month, both running & socially [and often combined] – I hear you on fun, but tiring. Hopefully you can settle into heavier Portland training easily with a less hectic Auugust!
Wow that was a fun month. You dealt with the heat and some adverse conditions with grace and agility. Good job Aron!
i love reading your blog! i’m currently training for my first half marathon (vegas rock ‘n roll in december) and i’ve found your advice and experiences so helpful and motivating. sometimes i really feel freaked by the distance but i know if i keep working at it i can get there. congrats on SFM!! your 11th- wow!
Your July was pretty much as good as it gets. I haven’t had the chance to tell you yet- CONGRATS on number 11!! Even if it wasn’t the race of your dreams you RAN A MARATHON which is always a certifiably bad ass achievement.
I love love love the jumping photo!!!
PS- you need a nap! I mean, I need one just READING about your month
Holy mileage!!!! And fun times!!! You rocked July running and bonded a lot with loved ones! I love the Lululemon photo!
did i ever send you a pic of my pups in the kiddie pool i bought after seeing yours? i’ll send you one.
I loved your SF marathon race recaps! I enjoyed reading them and felt like I was there for the action!
I can’t believe you went to a bridal shower AND a bachelorette party after a 20-miler! (By the way, that pic of you all is lovely!) After a 20-miler, this girl is zapped for the rest of the day!!
The blogger run looked like so much fun! Maybe I’m biased, but I am so happy to see a baby bumpin’ runner in your group. We make up such a small minority of the running community and it is always nice to see another one! I wish the blogger community in Louisiana was as active as it seems to be there.
Looks like July was a BIG month for you! So many activities and so many miles! What does August have in store?
Sounds like you had a wonderful July! I honestly don’t know where the month went, but I have been enjoying living back home and closer to the fiance, while planning our wedding and moving into our first home!
what an amazing month you had! July was hot here and my finace’s 30th birthday took over the whole month (which was way fun, I just like to give him a hard time about it)
You sure do seem to do it all! I’m hoping to someday have a positive recap like yours, but I’m not there yet. I’m working on it though…
it is heartwarming that you and Page and such good friends
Cheers to a great August, and CONGRATS on your marathon AMBASSADOR!!!
oh — and after I fully peruse your blog for CIM info, I may have a few questions for you…
July for me was when I started running, discovered your blog and signed up for a 10 mile run at the end of October. I really admire what you have achieved and love the way you tell it ‘warts and all’ so to speak. For a new runner it is very motivational.
