I started writing this on Sunday, but ended up falling asleep on
Emma’s the couch at 7pm and sleeping all the way until 6:30am this morning! I guess that is a sign of how awesome this weekend was.
This weekend was full of A LOT of fun, a lot of running and a lot of friends. I always feel so lucky to be surrounded by such amazing friends after weekends like this!
My weekend started off very early with the alarm clock set for 4:30am in order to get my long run in before all the festivities! I was finally out of bed at 4:45 getting ready to tackle the beast of a run with Kristin. She was at my house around 5:40 and we set off not feeling great at all. We were both SO tired, but knew after a few miles we might be feeling better so we just went.
At 3.5 we stopped at a grocery store to use the rest room and neither of us were feeling that great. I felt like I was going to fall asleep just standing there in the store, but we decided to push on to at least 4. I had back up plans in my mind for doing my long run on Sunday if this didn’t work out and we were so close to giving in to those plans. We just kept on running though.
Before we knew it, we were at mile 10 and the miles were coming easier. We made up parts of this run as we went, and it took us all over a couple towns. We were feeling better though, finding our groove and our legs were picking up the pace too.
I had only planned on doing 18-19 but Kristin wanted to get 20 in, so I figured why not, and went with her to add on the couple extra at the end. We pushed through and finished strong and were SO HAPPY we were actually done. It really wasn’t looking good at the start.

I got home, got ready quick and headed south to attend Page’s wedding shower which was so much fun and had some amazing food to refuel after my long run!
(read about the bride to be’s weekend here).
After the shower, I came home, took a quick nap, then got ready and headed into San Francisco for Page’s bachelorette! You may recognize Kristin and Alyssa in these pictures also. Although we are *gasp* not in running clothes so it might be a tad difficult.
We ate, we drank, we laughed, we danced in heels and by midnight Kristin and I were toast. We made it home and I was asleep in record time with my alarm set for 7am for MORE fun the next morning!
A bunch of bloggers were using a 6 hour endurance event in San Francisco for their long run, so I figured it would be fun to join them. Alyssa also bribed me with vegan donuts. I made it to the city around 9am and easily found Layla and Roadbunner. Soon we found Karin also and the 4 of us started on some laps.
They had all been running a number of miles already, and I just planned on 6 so did 5+ loops with them in the middle of their long run. It was so nice to chat with these girls and my tired dancing-in-heels calves felt so much better after a few of easy miles.

I stuck around and waited for most everyone to finish and loved getting to hang out and chat with the girls. It’s been so fun getting to see all these bloggers so frequently lately!
Now maybe you can see why I passed out on the couch at 7.
Hope you had a great weekend, weekly training recap up next!
