Chris and I used to make Wednesday nights our weekly date night at the track, but it’s been a very long time since that happened!
Chris really wanted to go to the track this week, so I decided to go with him. It’s a rare occasion these days when our schedules align to be able to work out together, so I definitely try to take advantage when it happens.
Like a perfect gentleman, he picked me up after work and escorted me to the track.
We did a couple mile warm up together, did some drills, then got going into a set of intervals. Chris hasn’t done speed work in a while (and neither have I!) so we decided on a simple set of 6 800s with 200 recovery.
Off we went!
I broke out the shoes finally for the occasion.
I could tell during drills I wasn’t going to last very long. My leg still isn’t feeling 100% when I try to run fast (and I ran 11 miles the night before), so I decided to call it quits after my first 2 800’s. Meh. I have a massage scheduled tomorrow and have been going to ART to help work through it, it’s just taking some time to get back into the fast stuff.
I cooled down and stretched enjoying the spring evening while Chris finished up his set.
Of course I was all dressed up in my best date attire.
To finish off date night, after dinner we took these cute butts for a walk. Yes they must walk side by side.
Definitely a successful date night in our house!
