At the time, I had a few friends who had blogs. They were not about running, but I loved reading them and thought it would be a fun outlet to have of my own. That night I sat down with Chris’s laptop, opened up blogger and somehow came up with this same blog title and just got writing, having NO idea what it would turn into.
I had no idea there was a huge community of running bloggers.
I had no idea I would meet so many amazing friends solely from this blog.
I had no idea it would become such a big part of my life.
3 years and 600 posts later and I feel like I am just getting started! I am still in the process of finding my style and direction. It has definitely come a long way since day one but I also think it will always be a work in progress, as blogging should be.
We have been through a lot in the past 3 years. I started with my very first race at an 8:20 pace and a year and nine months later turned that into my full marathon pace. I have documented my very first double digit mileage run, running my first half marathon and marathon, the 17 and 7 since those, and pretty much every single mile in between. I have had some amazing days full of runner’s high and pride, and have also had some days where I questioned why I do this at all. I love that I am able to look back on every single moment, good and bad.
Being part of such a supportive community of runners has made my experience the last 3 years even better than I could have imagined. The comments I receive, the emails that I will never delete, and the people I meet at races make running and blogging even better than I ever could have imagined. Thank you for reading. Thank you for taking the time to comment and email (I read every single one). Thank you for celebrating my accomplishments with me and supporting me through the days that are tough. Thank you for making me want to write and thank you for making me want to run. Who knows where my running would be without you guys!
Happy birthday little bloggie, here is to many more!
