but wasn’t it just october?
november is a kind of crazy month for me when you think about it… from peak week, to starting to taper, to going deep into taper, to the beginning of race week.
sheesh, talk about extremes!
it was another good month though, i finished off the big part of training strong with my highest mileage week ever (70!), had a mostly good taper (with a sick minor mishap), and am sitting here with ants in my pants ready to race!
so what were some of the highlights of the month?
i ran a very wet rainy long run with meghann in sf
i wrote my first post as part of the nike women’s make yourself movement
i broke the 2,000 mile mark for the year!
i met a new blogger friend and got to have dinner with some old friends at the same time!
i ran a 10k and had a fun breakfast with amy after.
i ran one on one of the most beautiful fall days i have experienced.
i had a great thanksgiving break and had some fun running around exploring new places.
this morning i went for an easy run in the chilly morning air. my legs were a little tight and heavy, so i kept it easy for the most part. i picked up the pace with one marathon pace mile in the middle and decided that was enough.
6.0 miles/53:18/8:53 avg pace
when i checked my weather app when i got home i saw this:
SNOW?!?!
well i never saw any (and yes i went out and looked for it), but just seeing it on my weather app for my current location got this california girl awfully excited.
my run finished off november with 229.5 miles, my 3rd highest month of the year. not too bad considering most of it was taper.
then to top the month off, i got to have dinner with the roho’s tonight – ALL of them! maritza is in town for a couple days and we had a long dinner where we chatted for many hours and didn’t take any pictures. i guess we were too busy chatting.
another great month of 2010 down, only one more to go, and december is always one of my favorite months of the year!

nice work on your big month! Before you know it your race recap from CIM will be up and I can't wait to hear how awesome you do! I am so proud of you and all the hard work you've put in. So many greats in November and December will be where it all pays off! <3
i had a really big month too which i find weird because of the taper factor! guess i didn't taper as well as i should have? hahahh
a very exciting month and while you only saw snow on your app we actually got it
trade places?! hahah
T-4 days?! HIZZAH
Wow! November was a great month for you!!! Congrats on hitting the 2000 mile mark! How do you fit in 70 miles in one week? Do tell!
I don't know that 50-mi weeks can still be considered "tapering"…
