yes i have already done a friday favorites on the ifitness belt, but here is another one!
i mentioned on that post how i had my eye on the double pouch model and i finally caved in and ordered one. i was finding i had extra things to carry during my mid-week runs: phone, key, pepper spray, gu, etc, and i just didn’t really like bulking up the other belt. i ordered a double pouch and hoped it would help with carrying all my things. sheesh why do i need so much stuff?

i have pretty much used this on every single run i have gone on since i got it. it still sits perfectly and doesn’t move like i said before, but now i can carry more things without feeling so bulky and full. I LOVE IT! i have used it on short runs and on my long runs in the past couple weeks and its perfect.

i am still going to use the race belt for certain days too, its perfect when i have a lot of gu to carry, but this double pouch is definitely my go to for a majority of my training runs right now.
go get yourself one already!

running!
wednesday night track night! it was pretty warm, low 70’s and i was just not feeling it. i warmed up for a mile, did drills and strides and we got going. usually once we get going i start to feel better, but i still was feeling a little low on energy.
workout:
4x800m (5k pace)
2x1600m (10k pace)
200 walk/jog in between
800s!
.50 – 3:28.8 (6:54 avg) – feeling ok
.50 – 3:29.4 (7:00 avg) – feeling tired
.49 – 3:29.7 (7:04 avg) – a little more tired
.51 – 3:30.7 (6:57 avg) – last one, pick it up!
total: 2.0 miles/13:58/6:59 avg
i was actually kind of dreading the mile intervals after this, i didn’t know how i was going to pull it off. then someone came and kicked us off the track, it was like my own guardian angel
the group headed over to the grass field and did 2×6 minutes hard. it was definitely not my hardest. i was wiped and cooled down at this point, but i ran what i could. it was also not easy to run fast on a grassy field!
1st 6 min: .76 miles/7:53 avg
2nd 6 min: .74 miles/8:08 avg
so not my best track workout in the world, but whatever i did it and moving on!
total for the night: 5.5 miles/47:39/8:37 avg
thursday night i went out for 8 miles. i didn’t really have a route or pace planned but was going to let the legs dictate it. well turns out they were feeling pretty good. i decided to run up this bigger hill i run and went up and over it focusing on my form, breathing and all that. once i was up and over the other side i only had to add on about 1/2 mile until i was at 4. so i decided to turn around and run it back the other way – double hill! i was feeling good on the ups and feeling really good on the downs. i think this was a great little run and i was really happy with it. plus i wore my marathon shoes for the first time so they started off on the right foot.
8.0 miles/1:07:43/8:27 avg pace
friday morning i met up with kristin for an easy 5 miler. i brought emma and she brought bentley and we had fun catching up over an easy run. i felt like i hadn’t run with her in a while so it was perfect AND it finally got my sleepy butt out of bed. the dogs were good too and had a great time as usual. i am getting glared at from kylie right now though
5.0 miles/48:40/9:44 avg pace
have a great weekend!

I need to get one of those belts!
Great job on the intervals and the 8 miler! pretty awesome that you concord that hill twice! Good job on your run this morning too with the pups
I have the double pouch and I looooove it – I can cram a purse's worth of stuff into it.
nice pup run!

To me those are really fast intervals as I'm doing yassos and only 5x800s @ 3:45 and working my way up to 10x800s.
Wanted to thank you for the tip on using the Windows Live Writer!!! So awesome, has changed my blogging experience. So much easier, especially to load photos and do edits. Thanks so much!
Have a great weekend
Wow, sounds like a challenging week – you must feel so accomplished! Great work!
I think both of those belts will answer a "need" for me – I'm going to get them both. In winter I use my jacket pockets but in summer that's not going to work and they would be just the ticket..
Nice workouts as well – you're very very ready!
I finally just started using my iFitness Belt and I really like it! It took a few runs to get it adjusted right but it really is great!
Those are some great runs! Sometimes after 800s I feel dead…they just take a lot of effort! That sounds like it was tough workout! Hope you have a great weekend!
i would totally dread mile repeats after 800s too!!!! great job on your workout!
It was the high temps, Aron, and you did great considering.
I definitely need to get one of the newer iFitness belts. I love my original, but it just doesn't hold everything!
Awesome job on the runs, especially for hanging in there on the track workout when you were feeling pretty tired.
I think you may have a typo in the 5mi stats.
5.0 miles/1:48:40/9:44 avg pace
Yay great week! I'm pretty nervous about my 1600s so maybe someone will kick *me* of the track too! Ha!
Great job on your runs this week, especially that double-hill one…that hill is not easy!!!
I like my RaceReady shorts because they have a bunch of pockets.
grass running is tough! you still pushed it and i like to tell myself that's all that matters
you do carry a lot on your runs! i get annoyed too easily about carrying things and it leads to me cutting a run short… i'm not very mentally tough!
(i just noticed your 2011 race schedule – LOVE IT!! and you!)
Good runs with nice variety, Aron!
I'm so glad you joined DailyMile. So now I can "see" your training on a daily basis. Yay!
Have a nice weekend!
i have to get one of those belts! everything ive heard about them is good things.
Nice job on the runs! Have a great weekend.
Ugh, who doesn't dread mile intervals! I don't blame you–you've got an intense workout schedule going on.
It is amazing how running is such a simple sport, yet we need SO MUCH STUFF.
LOL – how many of these things do you have!
I really need to look into one. they seem like they are pretty cool
I NEED the double pouch! I hate how all my stuff is so bulky and annoying!!
Great job on all your runs- your kicking butt!
Pepper spray, huh? I hope you never need it. Or do you just use it as a nutritional supplement? As Homer said, "One spray, and you're south of the border!"
YAY for the double belt. I seriously love mine too and glad you like it
Dang girl, you are kicking seriously tail out on your runs! Nice work on keeping up with training and doing so well. You are going to kill it at Big Sur!
