today is my other child’s puppy’s birthday… emma emma emmaaa!
if you were to ask who chris and i who my dog is and who chris’s dog is, emma would be my girl. i had a yellow lab growing up that i loved and when we decided to get another dog there was no doubt what kind i wanted to get. we brought this goofy puppy home when she was 9 weeks old, 4 weeks after we got kylie.
emma could pretty much be the definition of a lab. she loves to play, loves to eat, loves to sleep. she loves to play fetch and loves to swim and loves the beach.
she works hard and plays hard and is very serious when it is time to work. we all joke and call her the “serious runner”, because when it’s her turn to go on a run (after her freak out) there is no messing around. she puts her head down and runs and doesn’t let anything deter her from it. but when it’s time to sleep she takes that job very seriously too, just like her mom.
she also doesn’t mess around when it comes to eating (also like her mom), she knows dinner time and will not let you forget it. she will do anything for a piece of food.

last night i had a very nice run. it was the perfect spring evening – cool, slight breeze and sunny – i can handle nights like those. i went to a different trail after work since i am getting sick of my normal route and it was a nice change of scenery. my legs were a little heavy but it didn’t matter, still a happy run.

OMG, she's so cute! I have a yellow lab but she's visiting Grandma right now and seeing your pics of Emma are making me miss her even more. No worries though, I get to bring her back this weekend.

Awww she is such a cutie! I adore yellow labs. We have a big, goofy boy at home and I wish he could come running with me. He's just such a spaz, I think it would be more of a workout than a run!
