to continue with my birthday loot from last week, here is the clothing portion of my birthday presents!
do i have any of these? my friends know me too well. i can NEVER have too many pairs of these and i didn’t have these colors either and loooove them. no you do not want to know how many pairs i have total.
rei oxt fleet long-sleeve shirt
*gasp* its not nike, and omgosh i LOVE LOVE LOVE this shirt. it is so soft and comfortable, it is very cute, it has thumb holes and a little pocket to fit a key in. plus it has cute designs down the sleeves.
north face swift hybrid jacket
with all the rain that we have been having, i realized i only had one rain jacket for running and it’s black (not the best to run in in the dark and rain). it sounds like we are going to have a wet winter, so i figured it was a good investment to use my gift card on a nice rain/wind proof jacket. i love this thing. it has 2 zipper pockets in the front and one in the back, which i love because we all know i am obsessed with pockets. it also has thumb holes. it isn’t the warmest jacket, but its perfect for the temps around here. you can layer more clothes underneath if it’s colder too if you need more warmth.

this week in running!
wednesday night i went to the group run again and there was a MUCH bigger group this time since it wasn’t raining. my friend wanted to do the 8 mile route so i decided why not, i had company this time. for some reason my garmin didn’t feel like connecting to the satellites until we had already been a few miles which i was rather annoyed with, but i got almost 5 miles on there and i know we were going that speed if not faster to start with. a good fasterish run, especially since my legs have been feeling anything but speedy these days.
8.0 miles (on the garmin… 4.8 miles/40:59/8:33 avg pace)
thursday night i took emma out for a recovery run. my legs felt like lead the whole time but i enjoyed running with her. she is SUCH a good runner.
5.1 miles/48:39/9:33 avg pace
friday morning i met up with kristin and her pup bentley for a run, but this time it was kylie’s turn! we ran a easy recovery pace and the pups were great. my watch was being annoying, i think it’s dying a slow death, so i don’t really have any times. we turned around at our normal spot to get 5 miles.
5.0 miles/?????
tomorrow is my trail half marathon which i am super excited for. katie will be there and jolynn is doing the 10k too. i am still swamped at work, but hoping i will be able to catch up with blogs this weekend sometime – hope you guys are doing well!

I can't get enough of the tempo shorts
During my last purchase the sales guy at Nike asked me if it's a must that every woman run in tempo shorts. I had to laugh at that one! Love the other stuff too! I've been looking for a new running rain jacket and I may need to check that one out!

Are we talking groomed trails, paved trails or blazed trails. I am in freakout mood over my potential 50k on blazed trails. I think I will love the naturalness of it but I am freaking out for lack of opportunity to get much "real" train running in.

Those shorts finally fit me too, I tried them months ago during the summer and they just didn't fit right (the mediums muffin topped me and the larges looked like a trash bag) but now the mediums fit amazingly and I love how they stay put while running! I bought a few on sale since it's winter and all, but I still run with them, this is California after all.
I was gonna ask about your rain gear the other day when you posted a pic from your birthday run and I was admiring your rain jacket. I'm having trouble finding one I like. I have a good one from eddie bauer but it's a little too heavy and it doesn't tie around the waist well when I get hot. I'll have to look at that north face one.
