friday favorites – for the ladies

we all know i love nike for most everything running clothing related… here will be another exception.

the one thing i haven’t really been able to justify forking out the extra money for is sports bras. i don’t need a ton of support (thank you running) and don’t really see the point in spending a ton of money on sports bras. i am a big fan of the C9 by champion seamless sports bra from target. $16.99 is full price and you can find them on clearance on occasion as well. they fit me great, they are comfortable, and they are cheap… my favorite combination.

my good friend maritza was asked to review a sports bra from zensah (see her review here) and unfortunately for her (but fortunately for me) the sizing didn’t work well, so i was given the bra to review. yay!

with everything i have tried from zensah, i always notice how great the material is first and foremost, and this sports bra is no different. it is so soft and so comfortable to wear. it has a waffle-like fabric on portions which adds to the comfort, and i have had no problems with chafing or any discomfort. this has become my “long run/race bra”… i LOVE it.

maritza’s only complaint was the sizing and i would agree with her. i typically wear a small or extra small in running tops and sports bras, and this bra is sized a small/medium. i would definitely say it is on the small end of small/medium, and if you are on the fence about sizing (typically a medium) go with the larger size. this one fits just like my size small sports bras do.

so ladies, if you are in the market for a new sports bra, and want to shell out some extra cash for one, i would definitely recommend this one. it is worth the extra money and will be my go to sports bra for the important runs and big races.

I'm almost the same way. My favorite are the Old Navy ones (almost exactly the same as c9) which regularly go on sale for $9! Then I have one good Hi-tech one that i wear for races!

I am the same about bras – don't need a lot of support (grateful for that) and use Target or TJMax bras without any problems.

Not needing lots of support until the latest little one, I usually go "cheap" on sports bars too. But I do like Champion all the time!

Thanks for the bra recomendation..I usually don't spend the bucks on those, but they can make a big difference in terms of comfort especially on those long runs.

For lady runners who need more support, I highly recommend Title 9's selection of sports bras. I need a sports bra w/ serious support & love their moving comfort fiona bra.

I can't run in the Champion bras — I need more support — but it's too bad b/c they are so reasonably priced!
