TIART: addicted!

i decided to make my debut to the TIART runner’s lounge topics this week since it is on one of my favorite topics: running blogs!!

i have felt very overwhelmed trying to figure out how to narrow down and give recognition to those blogs i read, without leaving out the other great ones also. so i will do my best and i am sorry because i know i am leaving a lot out! but my list is over to the left… i try to keep it updated, but it just keeps getting longer and longer as i keep finding more fabulous running blogs to read on a daily basis (especially today after all these great TIART posts)! good thing i finally found google reader to help make my blog reading much more efficient!

i decided to start a running blog soon after i started training for SFM mostly to keep my friends and family updated on my training and fundraising, i had no idea it would turn into what is has. i am seriously addicted. i started off just reading a few blogs i found through some random searches, which continued to expanded slowly. then i got the guts and started commenting, and from there it has grown like crazy! i have found commenting brings comments… so i always try to comment on everyone’s posts – i know i love to get comments so i am sure others do too.

everyday i look forward to reading everyone’s stories about running, training, their purposes, techniques and suggestions, and their lives in general. you feel this connection to all these people that you have never even met through their blogs, its really awesome. there is such a great network of runners, and i have had so much support and advice, i cannot thank you all enough! sometimes i really wonder where my running would have gone if i didn’t have this outlet, source of support and place to hold myself accountable.

jen and marathon martiza were 2 of the first blogs i started reading… both were from my side of the bay, so it was fun to see where they train and what they train for. jen has answered countless questions for me, given me some great routes, and we are currently both training for the same race on the same plan. even though she moved away now, its going to be awesome to share this experience with her on our blogs and hopefully i will get to see her on race day to pass some of the speedy wisdom off to me. maritza is training for nike next month and i plan on being there to cheer her on! one of these days we will get out on a run too where we can discuss episodes of the office to no end.

i found laura’s blog pretty quick too, and the title alone just drew me in. i am constantly wondering what she is going to do next, and can’t wait to hear all about her quest for the 50 state club. her CA race just happened to be SFM which i also ran, and even though we were 2 minutes apart we never found each other. hopefully there will be another race where we can meet up!

alisa joined the blogging world not long ago, and it is always great to read about her goals and enthusiasm (and adorable puppy pics!). i am hoping to meet her in healdsburg next month!

nitmos is on everyone’s list and how could he not be?? i still remember the first time i read his blog and i was trying to figure out, is this guy serious?? didn’t take me long to find the sarcasm in his posts and i look forward to every one he writes. he also has given me some great advice along the way.

julianne also joined the blogging world not too long ago, and i was lucky to find her before SFM since she also ran it! its so fun to find other bloggers running in the same race. we were minutes apart but never found each other, but hopefully in the next month we will find each other at a race since we have a couple of the same ones coming up! she keeps me updated on many bay area races and always has fun things to write about including her wedding which was FIVE days after SFM.

sarah was also one of the first blogs i started reading. she is on her way to marathon #1, so its always fun to read about that experience especially just having gone through it! she always has great stories to go along with training and i can’t wait to read about her first marathon!

D10 is always great to read. she is an inspiration to everyone with how she can squeeze in having a full time job, being a mom and wife, and being a speedy runner! she is always very supportive and a great commenter. she has been training very hard for her upcoming race and i cant wait to see it all pay off.

i was lucky enough to find melanie right before SFM also, who gave me great marathon advice. i love reading her weekend adventures, and we are now training for a marathon on the same weekend! its fun to email info back and forth with her and she is just such a sweet girl.

N.D. has such a passion and drive for running, and now she continues to have the same drive (if not more) being pregnant! i have had fun swapping advice with her also, and it will be so fun to witness her pregnancy through the blog over the next several months.

miss allycat always has a great story or race report. she has also caught the marathon addiction and will be running her 2nd and 3rd ones in back to back weekends next month. she has a great sense of humor and always gets a laugh out of me. i will be cheering her on at nike!

i think another one on everyone’s list is P.O.M. how can you not love her blog?? she is so inspiring with her running, bikram and healthy lifestyle. i love reading about all her adventures in life and running, and can’t wait to hear how she rocks portland next month!

amanda is another blogger who i have been reading since the beginning. between her running, wedding, wedding re-do, injury and upcoming honeymoon, she has had an eventful year which always makes for great blog reading!

M.J.C. is also on her way to becoming a marathoner! she always has positive words flowing in her blog and has been training hard for her upcoming race, so hard she broke a rib! that isn’t stopping her though! i am so excited for her (race not the broken rib) and can’t wait to read all about it!

strugglepants always has something great to say, and being married, kidless with a yellow lab i feel we have a lot in common. i always look forward to her sense of humor in her posts and am glad she is back from a busy month because i have missed her regular blogging!

tfh just ran an amazing first half marathon and a trail on at that! she is a constant source of support and i love reading her blog on a daily basis. she has a great writing style and great topics to add to that. i can’t wait to see what is next for her because i know that half marathon was just the beginning.

last but definitely not least is marcy… the queen of running bloggers. i think every blogger out there knows who she is, and i dont know how she finds the time between running, her 2 little girls and all her own blogging, to comment on everyone’s blog! everytime i comment, there is usually already one there from marcy – she just does it all! she is always pushing the topics to the next level and can always get shock value, even if you think she couldn’t go any further. gotta love her blog (and thank you marcy for your NSFW warnings!).

i know i have missed so many more (make sure to check out my list on the left), i wish i had the time tonight to write about each of you! maybe i will continue on this theme in the future to do so :)

each and every one of you inspire and motivate me in some way. thank you for sharing your thoughts, advice, stories and lives. you have all helped me in some way and i can’t thank you enough. i can’t wait to see what you all do next! happy blogging :)

Funny…pretty much all the great comments you had about other people – are exactly how we all feel about you! You’re so motivating and I swear I don’t know how you find the time to blog so much and always leave nice comments :) Hugs!

    Hey Aron!

Thanks for the comment – always glad to meet a fellow Pfitz-ee/CIM-er!

Read your SF Marathon RR – that’s an AWESOME time considering it was #1 for ya…great job!

I skimmed through some of your recent blog posts and it seems like you’re putting up some great mile splits…what time (if any) are you shooting for in CIM? Are you trying to BQ yet?

In any case, keep up great running. I’ve linked ya and will check in from time to time to see how you’re progressing. Don’t know if you’re a RW poster but some of us are talking about a pre-race get together…feel free to join us if you and the hubby are free!

    Happy Running,
    Billy

Thanks for including me in your list. I think my running has gotten better because you all motivate me to be better and the support I receive from all you guys is amazing.

I can’t wait to keep on reading about your CIM journey.

I too am honored to be included on this great list. I know it takes time to compile and recognize each blogger, so thanks, Aron! Your entries always make me smile, and now you’re bringing my running blog addiction to a whole new level by introducing some new ones!

ITA chica! I never thought my run blogging (and stalking :P) would be like this. I just thought, “Hey I’ll do this so I can hold myself accountable” and it turned into something better :-)

Thanks for the shoutout. I just lock my kids in their dog cages is what it is :P

How could anyone leave Marcy out. That girl is just too much!!

    Great list!!

I always think the most enjoyable blogs are from the runners preparing for their first marathon, as you were. You can always feel the excitement and anticipation (and anxiety) come through the posts. Now that you are a “vet”, watch for that in the other newbies.

And thanks for the shout out!

Thanks Aron! Great list. If I was to do a list (but I’m far to lazy) it would definately have you on it!

That was so fun to see my blog up there! Thanks! I have to do that soon :) I think the first thing that I think of when I think of your blog site is your green dress picture. It just always stands out – I love that color!! Have a great weekend!
